I can field part of this one, at least according to what I have in mydatabase.
Although, I have no knowledge of why he was called "Bluehead, heowned, by
1819, the land close to Brownsville on the north bank of the GreenRiver, later
to be called the Gillis VINCENT farm.

William Thomas "Bluehead" SKAGGS was born 7 Sep 1797, the son ofJeremiah
SKAGGS (b. ca. 1771, VA?) and Rebecca MAYES (d. 29 Apr 1863, GreenCo., KY),
who married 2/3 Dec 1792, Nelson Co., KY. Jeremiah was the son ofJames
SKAGGS <LONGHUNTER> and Mary. Rebecca was the dau. of Matthew MAYES,a KY pioneer.

Bluehead married 19 Jun 1817 in Warren Co., KY to Mary "Polly"HARRISON,
dau. of Carter & Sarah HARRISON. They had the following children wholived
in Edmonson Co.:
