MRS. HAY DEAD
Death has entered the home of one of Taylor County's most prominentcitizens, Mr.
William H. Hay, and took from it the most precious form, "mother".
Mrs. Jane Hay was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Shipp and was bornin Taylor
County March the 20th 1857 and was married to William Hay in 1872. Tothis union was
born 10 children, three girls and seven boys.
She died peacefully and happy at 2:30 a.m. May 4th 1915, and was laidto rest in
Palestine Cemetery, services conducted by Rev. L.C. Kelly.
She is survived by her husband and eight children: Mr. Al Hay, Mrs.Irvin Cave, Messrs.
Dawen, John W., Dave, Thomas, Miss Saphronia and Henderson, all ofwhom were
present except John W. who is in the U.S.N.
Mrs. Hay was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church and wasfaithful, enduring and
patient Christian. She was loved by everyone who knew her. May God'srichest blessings
rest on the bereaved family and may they come to realize that death isonly a dream.
