Once your pictures are online,
there are several ways to put the proper HTML code into the "Optional
Image URL" line of a post.
- Type the FULL path to the image,
NOT the page it's on. Also, remember that on the World Wide Web,
most links are case sensitive, so that http://www.vangargoyle.com/myimage.JPG is not the same as http://www.vangargoyle.com/myimage.jpg. Make sure you know in advance exactly
how the image name and link are presented.
- Go the the webpage that holds
the image. In Netscape, right click your mouse on the image and
choose "Copy Image Location." Then you can go to the
Image URL part of the form, right click, and choose "Paste."
- Internet Explorer users can right
click an image and bring up "Properties." The image
location is presented in the gray box which appears on your screen.
Place your mouse cursor at the beginning of the tag starting
at "http" and mark the entire image path. Once it's
marked, right click and choose "Copy." Then paste just
as in Netscape.
- Create a text file and put it
where it's easy to find. Type in the image location(s) you want
to use, one per line. When you post a message and want to include
an image, just do the copy/paste routine again. This is a good
system because it lets you post while keeping the forums page
in view.
When you've got all the information
entered, your post should look something like this:
