The administrator's bond was acknowledged 1 July 1765 by his widow," Darkass" Ison, and Joseph Ballenger, her security, whose relationship is unclear. Amherst Co. Will Book 1, pg. 57-58. Inventory taken 20 July 1765; returned 5 August 1765. Will Book 1, pg. 61-62. About a year later Darkass King," late relict of James Isom" and "her present husband", Joseph King appeared in court and relinquished the administration of Isom's estate--Order Book 1766-1769, pg. 6. Joseph Ballenger then presented the account settlement 4 August 1766--Amherst Will Book 1, pg. 95-96. Both Benjamin and James Stinnett are listed as paying sums to the estate. No property mentioned.

Later deed documents describe property bordering James Ison's line---perhaps a son? John Ison was a witness to a deed dated 14 March 1763 in Amherst Co. A John Isom, Jr. is said to have moved from Amherst Co to Tyrone Co., North Carolina around 1769 where he sold land in 1771. He was. The information on James and his descendants are from a descendency chart in the Lancaster Public Library. The information is yet to be proved. Known information to Nancy Farmer is from William and Nancy Peter Isham downward.
