A lot of her students were older than she was and had a great deal of difficulty getting some of the older boys to behave. A former student recalled that Henry Hilton, her father, payed the boys to behave at school.

She would ride to school side saddle and had many gates to go through. One day while riding to school a piece of firewood had fallen off a wagon and was lying on the ground. It glistened white in the early morning sunlight, spooking her horse. Her horse reared but she did not fall off. She died on 1 Aug 1961 in Louisville, Ky. Died in a hospital in Louisville. Had developed a severe cold and died from complications. She was buried in Peter Cem. Parents: Henry A HILTON and Mary Ursula GRAVES.

From the Banner and Pioneer, Versailles, Ky. 4 Feb. 1845 containes a letter written to Bro. Buck from B. C. Since her first recollection we have been driving the poor Indians further off their own ground, and she thought if we owed any people on earth a favor it was the Indians.
