Edward, who was about 5 feet 9 inches tall had blue eyes, light
hair, and a fair complexion, served during the Civil War from
July 15, 1863 until August 3, 1865, in Co. K, of the 2nd Tennessee
Mounted Infantry, U.S. Army. The unit was under the command
of Captain Joseph Dickson Underdown and was formed at Camp
Dick Robinson, near Danville, Kentucky. Edward was Honorably
Discharged at Nashville, Tennessee on August 3, 1865.
John and Sarah also lived in the Dumplin Creek area where
they are listed in Jefferson Co. School District 41 on the last
day of June 1842. John was one of the three commissioners
for the District.


Edward and Martha are buried side-by-side in Henry's Crossroads
Cemetery, near Kodak, in Sevier County
